A truly magical destination: just look at this country’s shape on a map! Surprisingly diverse, Vietnam has it all: golden beaches, towering mountains, ancient ruins, highland pine forests and of course, the picturesque islands of Ha Long Bay. There’s also amazing food on offer, genuine people to interact with and all kinds of exploring to be done.

I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy Vietnam on two occasions. The first was in 2017 when Kent and I visited for the express purpose of climbing Fansipan – the ‘roof of Indochina’. We also looked at some of those lovely limestone islands, took an overnight train, played on the beach, and hid from a rainstorm in the ruins of a temple complex.

Then we got to come back! There was a race with our names on it in a new part of the country! We spent a magical weekend in early 2019 running around the pretty pines forests of Dalat.

I wonder what our next visit has in store…
