I admired New Zealand from afar for many moons before I finally got to go there myself. On the ground, my dreams were confirmed: this is fantasy land! New Zealand is a fantastically beautiful country with epic active adventures around every corner.
This is, after all, the land of Great Walks! There is world-class, phenomenal trekking here, through some of the most striking natural landscapes you’ll ever lay eyes on. And lest that name fool you, you can also run, bike and even paddle some of the Great Walks!
When we visited, in 2019, it was specifically do to a handful of these Great Walks. We had the great joy of doing three: the Tongariro Northern Circuit, the Abel Tasman Coast Track and the Kepler Track. Each was completely brilliant, and completely unique.
Nowadays, all I want to do is go back for more! New Zealand, I will be back for your wild beauty. Next time, I might not be able to leave!
